The memory of the water.

It doesn´t matter if you believe this or not :) Today I am explaining why this is relevant. When you think/act  positive or negative, everything in you, from you and around you will change. I am not very familiar with the Indian culture, but I know that all the ancient cultures (being part of one myself) share a similar profound knowledge.

Today I heard from Sadhuru that in traditional Indian families, they don´t drink water from the tab or bottles, they will put water in a brass or copper pot during the night, they will apply some sacred symbols, they whorship this and only next morning this is given to their families.

My spiritual doctor, my chinese doctor and my shaman doctor have told me in different occasions, that I should program my water, change the vibration with the power of my intention.

And I was thinking why this could be good for me, rather than if I believe it blindly or not. I open the possibility when I listen to their words.

I thought, well, we are water beings, almost 90% of our body is water, when you feel drained you will feel better when you take a shower, when you are close to the sea or even when it rains. So that means the water has a very deep effect on us.

I found out that when I connect consciously with the water I will drink or when I take a shower, I am making a ritual for being well. I fill my mind and body with loving thoughts, thankful toughts, flowing thoughts, successful thoughts.

If you have noticed the slogan of Body Mind Soul Therapy is To wish to be well is part of becoming well, that means that the cure won´t come from outside, from pills or from another person. Your health is totally connected with your will power and with the strengh of your spirit.

I started to remember this more and more often. I try to stop and connect with the water I wall take, I stop and connect with the food I will take, and then something will change.. because something already did.

If you wanna try to do this, because something in you is telling you that this is right, do it! There is nothing to loose and a lot to win.

Let´s be open to the possibilities, let´s wish to be well.

NEVER STOP THINKING WHAT IF...

I always encourage myself to do something different :) I never liked reality as it was so I always fantasize about what if.. something would be different as it is now. The truth is that I was rarely happy with what I had and that pushed myself to look for alternatives.

But that is not all bad. If it werent for that behavioral mistake, probably I wouldnt experienced different things and build my life around it :D With time I learnt to love also what I have but my curiosity is still there. What if I could...

DANCE

To be honest I never liked dancing, and I hate people for pushing me to dance. I was always bitter in the parties sitting all alone while everybody went for a dance... so.. thinking that DANCE could actually become my passion, would be a really funny joke if you ask me back then.

When I move to Prague and I broke my spine, I realized that my bones were suffering, that my structure was becoming stiff and weak. If I plan to live a lot of years I wouldnt like my bones to be weak, I wanted a STRONG and HAPPY structure.

Then something in my head made *click* which I translate as my guides were telling me, you have to learn to flow, look for dancing lessons.

And I did, and It changed my life completely. It help me to understand my roll in any relationship. I understood for the first time in my life what does it mean to be a follower not only in a dance but in life. I learnt that a perfect dance is the perfect balance of myself, and the perfect balance of the other self. It means to listen carefully, because everyone has a different rythm but they all have a rythm that can be followed. Always find that space to be creative within each dance, you are the beauty element of any dance, show it off.

And from that I thought.. What if I could learn to move in a different way... What if I could...

HULA HOOP

While I was searching for hawaiian dances in Prague, I ended up finding a hula hoop video, and I was OMG this flows beautifully, I dont know if I can do this, but I can try...

...and I did! And I am still there, slowly but surely, it is full of challenges, but for 1 hr a day the only thing that I can hear in my thoughts is.. I KNOW I CAN DO THIS.. and WOW... I am learning that some parts of my body flow really well, but some others doesnt, the same as dancing :)  I saw that my chest is never moving, and slowly as well, I am starting to wake it up. My heart chakra is starting to flow.

And then I thought..

What if... I could

SING

I also came across a video that inspired me soo much :D

I thought, that singing would help me to understand breathing, it would teach me to love my voice, and then of course to open my 3rd and 4rd chakra that I saw are blocked.

I also understood from my younger self that behind that aprehension of not doing something that you may be slightly interested, there is a lot of stress acumulated, a lot of fear an insecurity, so keep on asking yourself the question WHAT IF I... specially on things that trouble you, because that maybe a challenge you would like to defeat, a door you would like to try to unlock, to unleash your true self..which is the self of infinite possibilities.

LOVE to you all.

PS.. I also thought... WHAT IF I could be a bourlesque dancer? What do you think I did? :)

The journey

This is a short video I made of my last trip to Mexico. I have a old uncle and aunt who did so much for me while I was growing up that I wanted to give them something to pay my love and respect to them.

For many people in the country the only soulcare they know is the catholic church and for many of them it is a constant reminder of how imperfect and guilt they are of everything.

Massage and arts are a very simple way to work on the deepest levels of the human being, beyond the mind there is something in us that understand the intention of well being.

I just wanted to share this with you so you can get to know me a little bit.

:)

Masaje Para Bebé ( Shantala )

I have quickly prepared a video for 2 of my best friends in Prague who are ready to start their new life as moms. I wanted to give them something that I know will change the future of their babies and the future of those around them.

I think it is worthed to educate parents about massage as a regular thing in the family. As important as brushing the teeth after every meal, or as important as taking a shower everyday.

I have 2 beautiful nephews, and whenever they have seen me give massage to my brother, they get all inspired and they want to learn. It is wonderful to teach children about the healing potentials. Can you imagine how much everything will change for their generation? I have faith in them as I have faith in you who is reading this post right now.

This video is only in spanish now, but I will making it again in english soon.

What is your definition of Success?

Today I came across this question on internet: What is my definition of success??

I saw a video with other people trying to explain their definition and it seemed really hard for them.
At first it was hard for me as well, so I decided to think about why is so hard to honestly find the meaning of success in our lives, and if actually our first answer is not product of external influence. Call it your family, media, society....etc.

I thought that it is hard to define success because it means we have to hold on for a moment and talk to ourselves. Not many people is used to talk to themselves to find answers that will make their life better. Usually we would hear people talking about the success that is reflected by others, happiness presented by others, love being acted by others..

My short conclusion is that success is like spirituality. It is something you live personally, you and your own conscious.  You can explain how it works for you, but the others will have to evolve to get their own conclusions even if in the end the experience is the same for all of us.

Success for me is feeling that everyday and in anyway I am getting better and better.

What is your definition of success? :)

Huna Philosophy

The story of Huna philosophy seems kind of controversial, because it was created not by a native from Hawaii but from an American teacher who happened to live in Hawaii. Now, I don't think this is a problem. I think this man Max Long was one of those people looking ahead of his time. and I think it is great that he knew how to gather the information he percieved from the natives and his surroundings and create something beautiful.

The Huna philosophy has 7 principles which are:

IKE - The world is what you think it is

This refers to the importance of belief, whatever you believe in, you will manifest. for example, if you believe the world is a hostile place to live in, you will be always target of hostility. If you think life is full of treasures, you may end up finding treasures everyday :)

KALA - there are no limits
Our mind is an unlimited space for creation, whatever limitation we create in our reality comes from ourselves as well. In order to overcome our own limitations is neccesary to let go fears and forgive what is blocking our freedom.

MAKIA - energy flows where attention goes

It used to happen, that whenever I got really mad at work, and I couldnt stop thinking about the situation that made me angry, I ALWAYS hit my head. Also, it happened that whenever I wanted something really bad, and I was excited about the possibility to get it, I ALWAYS got it. This 2 situations in my life tought me that my energy will go where my thoughts go. So I would rather learn to keep my mind quiet, because the energy will flow better towards what I need to be happy.

MANA WA- now is the moment of power
There is a waste of energy and a lot of stress coming when we live constantly thinking what if... or if we think all the time in the things that happened to us in the past, or worrying about controling what the future will bring. Now, is the moment that change the past and the future.

ALOHA - to love is to be happy with
When love is experienced the feeling that comes with it is happiness. But sometime it is confused with anger, anxiety, insecurity. But this principle is simple. When love makes you happy, that is the right feeling. And it is the right feeling for you. You should be happy because YOU experience it.

MANA- all power comes from within
Now, that nobody else but you has the power to achieve what you need. This should be a big relief, because that means you can control everything :)

PONO — effectiveness is the measure of truth
What is true for someone it may not be true for someone else, but this should be based on a personal conscious wisdom. Not based on  ignorance and fact knowledge.

If you would like to have a better understanding of these principles, I invite you to read this http://www.unwrapyourmind.com/the-7-huna-principles-of-life-1-ike/

Remember that you can come an enjoy a wonderful lomi lomi experience at my studio

Maya medicine

Understanding nature and blend it with religion to cure illness.

Mayan cosmogony was ruled by nature, magic and religion. Within these context, every single maya citizen knew they had to live looking for a personal and social balance. Illness was considered a bad omen, a punishment for misbehaviour that will end up in the soul´s suffering and eventually lead to the destruction of the cosmos.

Health and balance was a responsabilty for the preservation of the one´s own life and the preservation of the universe.

Mayas were very in tune with nature, usually their names meant flower, rain, blue bird, tree, etc. And the music they made were a representation of the sounds of the nature, like sound of the sea, the sound of very specific animals, the sound of the wind, etc.

Healing supposed to be a very importan ritual, practiced only by Priests, who were able to enter to the spiritual world through psychotropics to bring health into the psychical world. There were also many specializations among the Priests, like doctors today.

Some of the traditional healing practices were treatments with herbs that were ingested, smoked or rubbed on the patient´s body. Since sickness is seen as an unclean house, cleansing was a very important practice. Some of these traditions are still in practice today, like egg cleansing, purging, sweating and drum healing.

I like doing egg cleansing during the Maya Massage as well as using percussions and feathers. But the thing I love the most is the feeling of being embraced by a very wise and deep spirit.

It is very interesting that all these ancient traditions are very similar. Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, Maya Medicine, etc. For many of them, the Spiritual world, the Natural world and sometimes, the Death coexisted in one reality, as if we all were part of one single thing that is in constant movement. Almost as Werner Herzog points out in his film The cave of forgotten dreams: "There is no barrier between the world were we are and the world of the spirits."

Isn´t it interesting that today we are looking back to this principles? As if we were in an awakening stage?

There is so much to study about the Mayas and the prehispanic cultures in general, but here I wanted to explain some of the things I am able to see and understand thanks to the practice of massage. Massage opens us to knowledge and wisdom but in a very humble way.

The Mayan Universe

The Mayas, thought that the Universe was composed by The Sky, the place of the gods, The Earth, the place of the humans and The Underworld. They thought that there is a connection between the supernatural world and the human world. They called this the tree of life or Yaxché.

Isn´t it interesting how not only the Mayan culture but many other ancient cultures were using trees to explain some kind of connection? And isn´t it interesting how even today modern psychology still uses the icon of a tree to exaplin the inner universe?

It makes sense then to look after our personal tree in order to help the universal tree to be in balance, right? :)

Magic is all around

I have a friend who has a great talent to write fairy tales, you can see her project here
www.archetypalmagick.net.  Rebecca inspired me a lot to rely in the power of magic as if I were 5 again :) I want to keep on believing in "crazy" things that will inspire me everyday and guide me to get what I need to be happy forever after :)

My massage project is full of excitement :)It makes me happy, it inspires me, it gives me energy.

I made a little animation where I show through the eyes of my inner child how I choose the tools I use in my massage sessions and how meaningful they are for me.

So, enjoy it and I hope to meet you soon as well :)

Animal Medicine

“Dignity does not consist in possessing honors, but in the consciousness that we deserve them.”
― Aristotle

Today during my acupuncture session I had a vision of a Moose.
As a creative worker, I have visions all the time but I have learn to separate those that are actually messages to help me in my everyday life. This one was one of those.

I would like to explain really quick what Animal Medicine is. It comes from Native American healing practices:

Native American rituals and practices are rooted in connection with all aspects of life and the Great Spirit (God). Therefore, the Native American practice of "animal medicine" embraces an awareness that reveals itself when a certain animal crosses our path.

The word "medicine" in Native American practice and in the custom of animal medicine refers to the healing aspects that a particular animal brings to our consciousness. This would mean anything that supports, strengthens, restores, empowers, or revives the spiritual body, as well as the physical body.

Once we are aware of what a certain animal represents, then we can take the necessary steps to create changes in our life according to that awareness.

I went to acupuncture today to treat a cough I have since 2 weeks ago, so my treatment was focusing on the energy of my lungs and my heart. Lungs are related to the emotion of sadness and the feeling of being worthy. And I was discussing this with my friend-doctor-sen sei.

After my session I decided to look for the meaning of the Moose and this is what I got:

Moose medicine teaches us the value of self-esteem, and of rewarding ourselves and others for a job well done. Moose walks with a measured and regal gait with his head held high for he knows he has value and dignity.

Now I know what I have to heal, my cough is showing me that it is time to let go those old patterns, and work on remember my value :) So for you who are reading this, remember it as well, it is not a coincidence that you are reading this right now :)

Whenever you see an animal and it drags your attention, look for what it means, most of the time it will bring you his energy when you need it the most :)

Au revoir :)

Summer Recipe

Summer is here!! The season of fire, the season of passion, the season of taking action!

Remember we talked about the organs and the seasons before? Summer is the expansive time of the Heart, It is the time of our body to be fully awake. It is the time to connect ourselves with everything else in the universe.

I would like to share with you a recipe and  tips of what kind of food, according to chinese medicine is perfect to keep our body in balance.

During this super hot season the best thing of course it to keep your body cool by eating/drinking for example:
  • Watermelon
  • Cucumber
  • Strawberries
  • Lemon
  • Water
  • Red Apple
  • Mint
  • Asparagus
  • Spinach
  • Tomato
  • Chrysanthemum
  • Green Tea
If you notice, many of these fruits are red. Chinese medicine also says that this kind of food will improve our blood presure and circulation.. that if you notice again it is talking about our red blood :)
Isn´t it interesting how colors influence our body. We are colorful beings :)

It is important to eat food that cool you down, but you should avoid frozen food or liquids, such as ice cream,  avoid very hot and oily food, because all this can cause dampness in your body.

Cucumber Gazpacho

(4 portions)

1 cucumber
1 small onion
1 avocado
1 small apple
1 lemon
4 mint leaves
600ml water

Chop everything and blend.

You can decorate it with basil leaves and soya yogurt or soya cream :) or with slices of cucumber.

* I talked about the red color of the summer, so instead of doing a green gazpacho, you can make one with tomatoes :)

Creativity that heals #1

I usually take my time write something here :) because I like keeping information that is relevant to me.

The other day I found some news about Brian Schreck, music therapist, who made a song with the heartbeat of one of his patients to help his parents cope with the loss. Literally as the title says.

I ended up finding a panel about music therapy that I wanted to share here. It is long, but it is worthed, you will have a nice idea of how it is to use creativity to connect with the soul, and creativity to heal.

Brian Schreck does something creative and noble taking the heart beat of his patients as a basis to do music as an homage of their lives. But his thinking behind that, how he is himself as an artist is marvelous to see.

Something that I really loved about him is his understanding of music and the spirit. I also like what he says about celebrating life. That's what he does with his patients, he celebrates their lives.

And I was going to on more of my thoughts about it here, but I prefer you to find your own treasures in this video :)

Quote of the day

I want to share this beautiful quote by Dr. Dyer :)

Before I heard the wise words of Dr. Wayne, that fair enough was a few days ago. I had a teacher at University during the summer, I don't remember the name of the teacher or the name of the class, but I remember him. He was a very short man, always dressed in a suit, he didn't seem very interesting, actually he wasn't popular at all. That summer he only taught to 3 students. But I can tell you, he gave me a great lesson that year.

I wish I could show you the video he showed us but instead I will describe it here:

Imagine you are driving on a road. You are a very responsible driver. But suddenly, a little bit before you take a curve. A car out of control almost crashes you. You are afraid but then, your fear transforms into anger when the driver, a crazy lady, yells at you furiously. PIIIIIIGGGG!!!

My teacher then stops the tape and asks:  Why do you think that crazy woman is so angry about?

I was thinking what he meant by his question. My collegues said something like, maybe she had an argument with the husband, and I said... Can it be that actually there was a pig on the road and the lady wanted to warn the driver who may end up having a terrible accident?

And that was the right answer.

My teacher then said, that sometimes things are not as they seem, and that a reaction based on anger could lead to take a bad decision. That somehow you have to learn to see things from different perspectives an angles.

My tip to you is to enjoy the possibilities, when you are in a situation that you find uncomfortable, or with people that you can't understand, change the perspective, and you will find yourself in completely different reality, one that would make you feel safe and happy :)

I know sometimes it won't be easy, but practice practice practice :)

Spring is coming! Its cleaning time! Its time to leave behind the winter sluggishness and to start cleaning our systems to start the new season full of energy. So, Im not kidding! You should also clean your houses, your work spaces, your FACEBOOK! and let go all those things you dont need anymore.
Take a deep breath... ahhhhhhhhhwwwfffffff!!!

I want to share with you a very simple recipe you can do to nourish your body during this season. If you have read my post about 5 elements in chinese medicine, you know by now, that spring is the season of growth. If you havent you can read it here.

Spring color is green, and the organs that are related to this season are liver and gallbladder, to nourish this 2 organs, according to the macrobiotics, we should eat green vegetables, growing vegetables (shiitake mushrooms), big leaves vegetables (spinach or kale)  :) green apples, limes, etc.

Recipe:
1 1/2 cup of spinach
1 cup of mango
1 cup of pinapple
half green apple
2 or 3 spoons of honey (optional)
1/2 cup of celery
2 cups of water

Mix the spinach and the celery with the water, till they have a smooth consitency, then add the rest of the ingredients. I add a little bit of honey :) because I love honey it in the morning, but the natural taste of the smoothie is also delicious.

The power of appreciation (POA)

Thank you. Isn´t that one of the first things your mother repeats non stop when you are growing up?
¿Claudia, cómo se dice? (Claudia, and what do you say?) T-H-A-N-K-Y-O-U-!
Many of us learnt to say thank you as an exchange of something that we were given, but why didn´t we learn to accept gratitude as well? I have heard many people say, oh no! you don´t need to say thank you. When the fact is that when we accept gratitude we also say thank you back :)

I have always worked for big companies, and I have always felt nobody really cared about me. They never said thank you, they never said well done. But was I showing my gratitude to them as well? of course not. why would I care? The truth is:  the day I started to appreciate myself more and appreciate all the good things in my life, -everything- got more relaxed and better... and cheesy enough, it got happier.

My collegues were happy to help me because I was happy to help them, my bosses were happy to let me go out in the middle of the day to take a workshop I really wanted to take because I was always there for them as a support. I knew I deserve to prepare myself more as much as they deserve my support.

Today, I just want to leave you with this thought: Offer thank you everytime you can, and also recieve it, gladly :) Appreciate everything without asking yourself why this and not that. It is an interesting excercise, and from my experience, I cant tell you, it makes you feel lighter :)

Thank you for being around me :) !!

A monster in the mirror

Today while reading mindful.org I came across this awsome video.

Have you heard about the idea that others may be a mirror of yourself ?

I love this video because it made me think about tolerance and love for myself and for others. But personally it helped me to wake up in a better mood knowing that I will be singing wubba wubba woo to myself every morning :)

Have a happy day!!!

Saw a monster in the mirror when I woke up today
A monster in my mirror but I did not run away
I did not shed a tear or hide beneath my bed
Though the monster looked at me and this is what he said:

He said "Wubba wubba wubba wubba woo woo woo"
Wubba wubba wubba and a doodly do
He sang "Wubba wubba wubba" so I sang it too
Do not wubba me or I will wubba you
Do not wubba me or I will wubba you more...

Quote of the day

“For every minute you are angry you lose sixty seconds of happiness.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson

Keep this in your mind next time you feel angry at anything :)

Have a happy day! :)

Qi gong and creative healing

QI (tʃiː)— n ( sometimes capital ) (in Oriental medicine, martial arts, etc) vital energy believed to circulate round thebody in currents

Gōng— n work, worker, industry, manday, good at ones job.

Qigong or Chi Gong, is over 4000 years old. I bring it up because I admire how it was developed.  Years ago a Buddhist monk who knew of yoga, wanted to help his fellow monk feel better…  Thus Qi Gong was born.

I fell in love with the idea that healing is not a static process, but something that evolves. Something that grows by learning from others as well as listening to our intuition.  This makes the process of healing a creative process.

I think everybody is unique.  We all have different needs, get sick for different reasons and recover in different ways.  Qi gong is a wonderful way to center yourself, bring back the energy we lose due to stress, pollution, depressions, noise, bad nutrition, etc.  Of course any kind of exercise is great as it keeps you right in the present, but Qi Gong has this particularity — that it not only  keeps  you focused on doing beautiful movements, but with every movement  you make, you have a feeling of honoring yourself… where you really are the temple, so to speak.  It helps you remember the wholeness of your being.  I think this is why Qi gong has also been called Chinese moving meditation.

I wanted to post it here to let you know that this exist, and like yoga, it is based on positions that will help the energy of your organs and your whole body feel in tune with the universe in a beautiful and peaceful way.

I also wanted to introduce you to the term creative healing, because I believe we should allow ourselves to create health :)
