Huna Philosophy

The story of Huna philosophy seems kind of controversial, because it was created not by a native from Hawaii but from an American teacher who happened to live in Hawaii. Now, I don't think this is a problem. I think this man Max Long was one of those people looking ahead of his time. and I think it is great that he knew how to gather the information he percieved from the natives and his surroundings and create something beautiful.

The Huna philosophy has 7 principles which are:

IKE - The world is what you think it is

This refers to the importance of belief, whatever you believe in, you will manifest. for example, if you believe the world is a hostile place to live in, you will be always target of hostility. If you think life is full of treasures, you may end up finding treasures everyday :)

KALA - there are no limits
Our mind is an unlimited space for creation, whatever limitation we create in our reality comes from ourselves as well. In order to overcome our own limitations is neccesary to let go fears and forgive what is blocking our freedom.

MAKIA - energy flows where attention goes

It used to happen, that whenever I got really mad at work, and I couldnt stop thinking about the situation that made me angry, I ALWAYS hit my head. Also, it happened that whenever I wanted something really bad, and I was excited about the possibility to get it, I ALWAYS got it. This 2 situations in my life tought me that my energy will go where my thoughts go. So I would rather learn to keep my mind quiet, because the energy will flow better towards what I need to be happy.

MANA WA- now is the moment of power
There is a waste of energy and a lot of stress coming when we live constantly thinking what if... or if we think all the time in the things that happened to us in the past, or worrying about controling what the future will bring. Now, is the moment that change the past and the future.

ALOHA - to love is to be happy with
When love is experienced the feeling that comes with it is happiness. But sometime it is confused with anger, anxiety, insecurity. But this principle is simple. When love makes you happy, that is the right feeling. And it is the right feeling for you. You should be happy because YOU experience it.

MANA- all power comes from within
Now, that nobody else but you has the power to achieve what you need. This should be a big relief, because that means you can control everything :)

PONO — effectiveness is the measure of truth
What is true for someone it may not be true for someone else, but this should be based on a personal conscious wisdom. Not based on  ignorance and fact knowledge.

If you would like to have a better understanding of these principles, I invite you to read this http://www.unwrapyourmind.com/the-7-huna-principles-of-life-1-ike/
