I want to share this beautiful quote by Dr. Dyer :)
Before I heard the wise words of Dr. Wayne, that fair enough was a few days ago. I had a teacher at University during the summer, I don't remember the name of the teacher or the name of the class, but I remember him. He was a very short man, always dressed in a suit, he didn't seem very interesting, actually he wasn't popular at all. That summer he only taught to 3 students. But I can tell you, he gave me a great lesson that year.
I wish I could show you the video he showed us but instead I will describe it here:
Imagine you are driving on a road. You are a very responsible driver. But suddenly, a little bit before you take a curve. A car out of control almost crashes you. You are afraid but then, your fear transforms into anger when the driver, a crazy lady, yells at you furiously. PIIIIIIGGGG!!!
My teacher then stops the tape and asks: Why do you think that crazy woman is so angry about?
I was thinking what he meant by his question. My collegues said something like, maybe she had an argument with the husband, and I said... Can it be that actually there was a pig on the road and the lady wanted to warn the driver who may end up having a terrible accident?
And that was the right answer.
My teacher then said, that sometimes things are not as they seem, and that a reaction based on anger could lead to take a bad decision. That somehow you have to learn to see things from different perspectives an angles.
My tip to you is to enjoy the possibilities, when you are in a situation that you find uncomfortable, or with people that you can't understand, change the perspective, and you will find yourself in completely different reality, one that would make you feel safe and happy :)
I know sometimes it won't be easy, but practice practice practice :)
